The Amicus Committee provides strategic amicus support in appellate cases that implicate constitutional rights, criminal procedure, and the integrity of Louisiana’s justice system.
Death Penalty

The Death Penalty Committee exists to support lawyers handling capital cases and to push for a fairer, more reliable death penalty system in Louisiana.
Education (CLE)

The Education Committee exists to deliver high-quality, relevant CLE that strengthens criminal defense practice and supports LACDL’s mission statewide.
Federal Defense

Lawyers' Assistance

The Lawyers’ Assistance & Defense Committee exists to protect criminal defense attorneys from adverse actions arising out of ethical and lawful client representation by providing consultation or limited representation when core defense functions are challenged.
